Engineering and Technical
The Engineering and Technical Cluster offers secondary students a variety of career related pathway opportunities. Qualified instructors from industry offer a project based learning approach as students participate in rigorous job related courses that educate them in standardized industry processes related to concepts, layout, design, materials, production, assembly, quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, construction, repair and service of industrial, commercial and residential goods and products. Along with the acquirement of skills necessary for a successful transition to postsecondary education or work, students work toward industry related certifications or credentials, making them more marketable in today’s global society.
Another student benefit of this career pathway is the opportunity to participate in industry related career and technical student organizations. WV SkillsUSA and WV Technology Student Association provide additional co-curricular opportunities that enhance student achievement, develop student leadership and support experiential learning growth through competitions. Students can showcase their acquired skills by competing at the local, state and national level.
